Fix Jon Gray's Face

ATTENTION COMMUNITY SUPPORT NEEDED!

First things first, a great friend of alot people, Jon Gray was jumped, unprovoked, while getting out of the Muskegon River at Maple Island on July 3rd after a day of tubing with his friends and family.

This man is always there for his friends and family. He also is an active member of the EDM community. He is one of the founders of the beloved event, The UnBirthday Party, that many of you are familiar with. If you know Jon, you know he would give his shirt off his back for his friends. And if you don't know him, I implore you to trust us on this one. He's a real stand up guy.

Jon and a couple others were looking for one of their friends. They were calling out for the friend they were looking for and this group of kids, early 20s something, thought they were talking crap to them, which they most definitely were not. Jon was not familiar with these kids. He tried to avoid the situation and tell them to go away. That triggered them into choosing senseless violence and start attacking Jon. He was hit from the front and then rocked from the side, right in his jaw. He was knocked out and in the water where they continued to attack him.

If that doesn't upset you, maybe knowing this will... this assault happened in front his 7 year old daughter and they left him for dead in the river face down.

Thankfully, there was a kind soul who helped bring Lilly, his daughter, out of this mess and went into the water to pull Jon out, taking hits on the back of their own head before someone else stepped in.

Jon is going to need oral surgery because his jaw is severly broken in several places. It will more than likely need to be wired shut.

He was just about to start a new job too. Thankfully they are holding his job for him but that doesn't change the facts that it's going to be quite some time before funds start coming in again.

We are putting together this gofundme and there will be a near future, local community event to help to try to offset the immense medical bills they are going to face for his face surgery's. The last reports were he might be able to get surgery today, Tuesday the 5th, but it might not happen until Thursday the 7th because of the availability of oral surgeons in our area. He is currently at home just trying to hang in there until he can be seen. Thankfully they have him on some pain meds in the mean time, but could you imagine being home with jaw that is broken in multiple places? He can only consume liquids and really can't move his face at all. And his poor face swollen beyond belief. Jon usually has a pretty face, but right now his face definitely looks like a chipmunk with packed cheeks. (Gotta throw a little poor humor in here to lighten the mood )

This was far more then a simple assault or a one on one incident. 3 on 1 is NEVER fair. From our understanding, 2 of them have been detained and the third is still out there.
