Fix Granny's House - Columbus Tornado
Donation protected
The Columbus tornado did significant damage to Granny's house (Helen Wright). A large tree pulled out of the ground and lifted the HVAC unit (breaking up the cement pad it sits on, tearing the gas and electrical lines attached and it is likely a total loss). The tree is also on top of the roof. It has done significant damage to the gutters and the roof. There are many spots where you can see light from within the attic because there are now holes in the roof. The plaster in multiple rooms (walls and ceilings) in the house is cracked and leaking. Unfortunately, her home owner's insurance has also lapsed. Therefore, all repairs will have to be self-funded. She is on a fixed income. The house was built in the late 1800s and has been in our family for three generations.
