Bboying lies at the intersection of artistry and physicality. It is a process of exploration and great learning, but without a community, culture, or foundation on which you can base your moves, it lacks something.
I’ve seen many bboys and bgirls struggle for ways to improve, even as we move into a digital age with online videos and tutorials. I wrote The Book of Five Cyphers to give these bboys and bgirls a more holistic understanding of the dance, and a clear pathway to get better.
What is The Book of Five Cyphers?
Put simply, it’s a warrior guide. In five chapters (Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, and Emptiness), the book breaks down bboy/bgirl foundation, techniques, and tactics so that you can learn how to improve yourself as a dancer and as a person.
It also doubles as a community forum, where bboys contribute their perspective on movement, art, and life.
We hope that in reading and supporting The Book of Five Cyphers, it will take you on a journey through new concepts, open unforeseen doors, and inspire you to think about new things on and off the floor.

Our goal is $1,200 to cover the costs for an initial printing, copyright and publishing to make it legit!

100% of the proceeds made from the sale of The Book of Five Cyphers will be donated to local San Diego dance studios and sponsor dance scholarships for underprivileged youth.
