The Bushika Health Centre Level III is a government health clinic located in Bududa, Uganda, under the direction of James Wafula. The Lehigh Uganda Sustainable Livelihoods Program works closely with Dr. James each summer, where Lehigh students intern and volunteer in this clinic through a variety of capacities, including helping to manage patient intake, assisting in the laboratory, serving as medical scribes during patient consultation, and assisting with public health outreach. This collaboration benefits Lehigh students, and also helps the clinic to run efficiently. However, Bushika Health Centre is under stress from medication stock-outs, outdated and damaged instruments, and decaying infrastructure, while the demand for services is only growing. Any small donation can help. For example, even $5 can be used to buy essential medications to keep the Health Centre functioning and serving patients who cannot afford medications on their own. If you are not in a position to contribute financially, I urge you to share the fundraiser with friends, family, and anyone else.
Thank you on behalf of James and the Lehigh team for your support!!
