Five Family Members with COVID-19
The Brito-Bayne family has two students — one pre-k & one 2nd grade — that attend the school that I work at, and they are precious. Rebecca Brito, the boy’s mom, is a hard-working, amazingly loving, single mom. Rebecca’s parents are incredibly involved in their lives (we see them almost as often as we see the kiddos).
Since March 25th, though, the Brito family has experienced the world as they know it, crashing in. There are currently 3 family members in the hospital trying to recover (the boy’s grandmother is sedated & on a ventilator, the doctors are trying to combat the fluid on her lungs, the boy’s grandfather is also still fighting COVID & pneumonia in the hospital, & Rebecca’s brother is receiving treatment in the hospital also). On top of that, Rebecca & her sister have been released and are being treated for COVID from home. Rebecca, who also suffers from fibromyalgia, has been doing her best to try to extend care to her family while sick herself. I am truly heartbroken for this wonderful family & all that they have endured through this experience. Please continue to send prayers, good vibes, & your thoughts to the Brito-Bayne family — especially Rebecca’s parents.
If you are in a financial position to be able to assist, I know that it would lessen the burden that Rebecca must be feeling. I can’t imagine what the hospital bill will look like for a family of 5 to be treated but, I think we, together, can help take some of the edge off.
Food has been taken care of for the family for the next 2 weeks.
In talking with Rebecca she also mentioned that she loves to read & to do puzzles, so if you’d rather give in that way I would be glad to do a porch pick up / drop off — email me!
Thank you so much for contributing to this family in the ways that work for you♥️
