As an award-winning actor, I recently stepped away from my business to focus fully on creating work that feels urgent and meaningful. In response to the current political climate, I’ve written a one-woman play, FIVE DOORS: Drama, Doubt and Democracy, featuring five American women voters from different swing states across the country. Each represents a layered, human perspective on living and voting in America—voices that are often overlooked in today’s polarized discourse. This piece is about listening, recognizing complexity, and finding connection where we don’t expect it.
Bringing a new work to life without institutional backing is both exhilarating and demanding. I’m raising funds to support the essential elements of production: compensating my director and creative collaborators, securing rehearsal space, and covering media, video, and travel costs as I work to bring the show beyond San Francisco. As the project grows, additional support will help expand its reach through marketing, content creation, and thoughtful production design.
If FIVE DOORS: Drama, Doubt and Democracy resonates, it has the potential to do more than entertain—it can open space for conversation that feels less reactive and more human. I’m inviting those who care about theater, storytelling, and meaningful dialogue to help bring this work into the world. Every contribution directly supports the creation and sharing of stories that aim to foster empathy, curiosity, and connection. Thank you for considering being part of this process.
