The FIU Law Class of 2020 has been unable to obtain their law license and begin meaningful work as fellow attorneys alongside us. Their student loans, rents, car payments, food expenses, and other necessities of life await them. Given that their bar exam results likely will not be released until November, support for our fellow alums is ever more present.
I have created this GoFundMe campaign to help students from the Class of 2020 taking the Florida Bar Exam in (now) October 2020 that demonstrate a need for such funds. Our fellow alumni from the Class of 2020 will apply for use of these funds. In the event that we have leftover funds, those funds will be donated Legal Services of Greater Miami. These funds will not be used for all students in the Class of 2020. Rather, it is the intent that those funds be used to help students that have a demonstrable need for necessities to keep them going until they take their October bar exam.
An accounting of how funds are disbursed will be made available bi-weekly to anyone that asks, although the names of recipients will remain confidential unless that recipient opts to break anonymity.
Thank you in advance for any contribution, no matter how small, that you can make to this fund to help our fellow alumni. These alums will soon be members of our profession and have worked incredibly hard to get where they are. They have walked through flames to make FIU proud, and I hope we can help them on the final leg of their journey.
