As reported by the local lubbock news stations, Around 3:45 on 1/22/19 the home of Cyndi Fitzwater and her teenage grandson sadly was invloved in a large fire. The home located in central Lubbock, 60th street was damaged extensively. ALL funds go DIRECTLY to the family via gofundme.
Thankfully Cyndi and her grandson were away from the home at the time, although the family dogs were home. Sadly 1 of the precious family dogs did not survive the fire.
This family is in need of so many more things than I can even begin listing at this time. From clothes to home furnishings to building materials. It was only recently the insurace had been canceled unfortunately, all damage and cost are at the families expense. This is the only home they have and as Cyndi works hard to provide for her home and her grandson daily, such huge loss and cost is beyond means at this time. They will be having to rebuild and take temporary measures in making it safe enough to be able to continue to live in the destrcuted home, while they make efforts to rebuild.
On the day of the fire, winds were high and swept the fire into the attic and throughout. As you can imagine the amount of loss and grief at this time is overwhleming for this wonderful famiy.
If you can help anyway at all any amount please do so in knowing it is very much appreciated and a great blessing to them. The current goal at this time is truly unknown as the damage is still being assessed. Once the family has a better idea at the cost of this tragedy will update all information and photos as they are able. As they will also try and get a materials list together in the next few days as they come together to work through this all while continuing going to work and school. Right now emergency monetary donations will be best so they can gather things needed as they go.
Also, the account at westtex federal credit union under Cyndi or Cynthia Fitzwater.
Any questions may be directed towards me and i'll do my best to get with Kari Daniel, Cyndi's daughter or Cyndi herself and get those answered for you. Just keep in mind during this time they are again, understandably overwhelmed.
Also, above all please pray for this family as they come together and rebuild through this tragedy, the prayers and shares are also very much greatly appreciated.
Thank you and God Bless!
Note: anyone wondering about myself the creator of the fundraiser, Leigh Ann Mcwhorter, I am a family friend. I did reach out to the family and was given permission to do so for them by Kari.
