Hi, everyone. My name is Hillary, and I am dog mom to Fitzgerald, the sweetest senior boy around. Fitzgerald is in desperate need of dental surgery, liver testing/meds, and possible cancer treatment. I do my absolute BEST to give him the best life and care that I can, but the truth is that my life looks very different now than it did when I adopted him over 8 years ago. At that point, I was part of a two-income household with a certain measure of financial stability. However, after a two-year period when my ex was unable to work and I was the sole breadwinner in an expensive city, and an ensuing period of emotional abuse that led to separation and divorce, my financial situation is very different. As a grad student, I am able to manage Fitzgerald's day-to-day expenses, as well as set some funds aside for smaller emergencies, but the looming expenses related to these surgeries and more extensive kinds of care are far more than I can afford. If anyone is able to give even a little bit to help out, I would so deeply appreciate it. It's been a rough couple of years trying to navigate this on my own.
