Hello friends and family!

As some of you may already know, I have recently learned that I will be able to pursue getting my drivers license. This is very exciting news to me because I've been told several times throughout my life that this would be an impossibility on account of my poor vision. Fortunately, I was recently directed to a couple of very kind Low - Vision Specialists that administered a test to assess my capabilities to drive and they delivered the good news that I could! They have provided me with the technology needed which will allow me to drive.

I recieved a special pair of glasses with a mounted bioptic scope which allow me to see at 20/30. This is the first of several steps I will need to take to get my license, which brings me to the purpose of this fundraiser.

My next step in the process is to take several driving classes geared toward low- vision drivers which will teach me rules of the road as well as how to specifically use these futuristic-type specticles. I will have to take between 2 and 5 of these classes depending on my progression and as a college student, the price per-class is intimidating. After taking and passing these courses, I will be approved to get my permit which is when the reaI fun can begin.

Once I've received my permit I will need to drive a certain amount of hours with another licensed person accompanying me before I am able to get the real-deaI license. It is a multi-step process that will most likely take the better part of a year to complete but I can't wait to get going! With my first class coming up soon I am growing in both anticipation and anxiousness, but I have to smile and thank God for this tremendous blessing.

I am asking for donations from anyone who is able, in order to help pay for the cost of these driving classes so that I can start the process of becoming ready for the road. I can't thank everyone enough for the love and support I've recieved over the years, and I can only hope to be able to pay it forward someday.
