The Universiade is an international multi-sport competition that takes place every two years. The event is second only to the Olympics in number of participating athletes and countries, is open to competitors between the ages of 17 and 28 in the eyar of the games who are full-time students at a post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post secondary institution in the year proceeding the games. 

Embracing FISU's motto of 'Excellence in Mind and Body', the Summer Universiade incorporates educational and cultural aspects into 12 days of sports competitions, allowing university student-athletes from all over the world to celebrate with the host city in a true spirit of frinedship and sportsmanship. 



The 28th Summer Universiade 2015 will run July 3-14, 2015 in Gwangju, Korea. Gwangju is a relatively small city in Asia with unkown treasures and is ready to reach out to the world. 



Team Canada will be coached by Head Coach Peyvand Mossavat (UIOT) and staff Jose - Luis Valdes (McGill), Laura Arduini and Troye Flannery ( Calgary).

20 players will travel to the competition which is self funded through players, coaches and staff.
