Fisher's Friends
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Ali Williamson, and I’ve set up this page for my dear friends. Meet the Trammell family: Kent + Alisha, Smith, Fisher, and Virginia!
Their middle son, Fisher, has been diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia [SAA]. Aplastic Anemia is a deficiency of all types of blood cells caused by failure of bone marrow development. It is a rare condition, less than 20,000 per year.
With SAA, Fisher is very susceptible to infection, and every day, "no big deal" things like the common cold are extremely dangerous. They make weekly, almost daily, trips to the clinic. Recently, there have been more trips to the ER for fevers. Fisher is experiencing pain, ulcers, and sores from treatment and side effects of SAA. But, as some of us know, "Sunshine Fisher" continues to keep a positive attitude.
So, where is Fisher in treatment/what are his treatment options? We are currently on option D!
- A. Bone marrow transplant (BMT) from a full sibling match. Unfortunately, after testing, neither sibling is a match.
- B. An unrelated fully matched donor. Fisher has one match, but unfortunately, that person is unavailble to donate at this time. So if you haven’t yet, please consider joining BeThe Match .
- C. Immunosuppressant Therapy (IST). Fisher has received this treatment, and we hope this treatment begins working SOON! But until it does, we wait and pray.
- D. Haplo Transplant. A half matched donor, meaning Kent or Alisha giving a bone marrow transplant.
The biggest encouragement we have is that even though they are at plan C in Fisher's treatment, God doesn’t have a plan A, B or C. He only has The Plan. And even though that doesn’t make it easier, we know God loves Fisher and He has a plan to prosper him and not to harm him, a plan to give him hope and a future. And we believe in that plan above all others. The Trammell Family values your prayers, and I invite you to pray for Fisher as often as you think to.
I started this page in honor of Fisher and the Trammells to ask for financial support as they continue to battle through. While there are certainly other tangible ways to serve our friends, at this point, it would benefit them the most. Donations will be used for medical bills, medication costs, child care, medical equipment, and unexpected expenses that have continued to arise. Thank you so much for your generosity!
