Wetherby Angling club Fish Protection
Donation protected
Dear Members,
Following the re-digging and stocking of Pond 4, it has now developed into a super fishery and this summer has produced plenty of fish of all sizes and species.
However, having worked hard to produce this, we now have an unwelcome visitor(s) from the river, namely an otter.
This is not a massive surprise as otters are everywhere, but we’re taking immediate action to prevent further killing of our fish.
An otter fence has been approved by the landowner, which the club will purchase and erect as soon as possible.
Angling Trust/EA grants are not immediately available. If we wait for one we risk losing our breeding stock (otters don’t eat small fish). Therefore we’re appealing for donations via a Go Fund Me page.
Any donation, however big or small will help protect this pond and the fish, ultimately for your benefit.
Our target is £5000
Thank you in anticipation
