Help First-Time Parents Living a Nightmare

What was supposed to be one of the happiest moments of their lives has turned into a nightmare for first-time parents Kiera Brown and Davon Morris.

On November 25, 2025, Kiera was induced due to dangerously high blood pressure. After hours of increasing Pitocin, additional interventions, and no progress, Kiera and her baby went into distress on November 27. Doctors rushed her into an emergency C-section, and at 2:10 AM on November 28, baby Kahliya Morris arrived weighing 6 lbs—healthy and beautiful.

Just days later, everything changed.

On December 3, Kiera began experiencing chills, pain, and loss of appetite. A doctor reassured her it was normal, but her condition rapidly worsened. By December 6, she was back in the hospital, where doctors discovered a severe infection that required her to be reopened surgically. The infection had spread so deeply that she now must use a wound vac device to drain her incision and properly heal.

Even in the midst of this trauma, Kiera learned that her insurance will only cover 80% of the wound vac, leaving her responsible for the remaining 20% that's charged every day just to use the device she needs to survive and recover.

Kiera and Davon have both been unable to work for the past three weeks. With a newborn to care for, unexpected medical complications, and overwhelming financial strain, they are facing an impossible situation.

They urgently need help covering:

Daily wound vac medical device costs

Rent and essential bills (gas, electric)

Car insurance and basic living expenses

Supplies for baby Kahliya
