My name is John Medina II. I am a first-generation college student attending Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi. I am in my fourth year as a music education major with a planned graduation date in the spring of 2026.

I recently got accepted to Sewanee Summer Music Festival in Sewanee, Tennessee, where I will be studying with the oboe professor from Michigan State University. I would really love to learn from this professor as well as eventually apply to Michigan State University as a graduate student. Being able to attend Sewanee Summer Music Festival will allow me to learn and develop professional connections for my future.

Unfortunately, as a first-generation college student, money has always been my limiting factor. I have maintained A/B's in college and have a 4.0 GPA for my major-specific classes. I have always pushed to do as much as I can and would like to continue to further my education as much as possible.
