Hello, my dearest friends and family

I recently got a first-year teaching position in a 1st-grade classroom. I am so excited but also extremely nervous. I just want to do a good job!

Unfortunately, the previous teacher who was fired took a lot of things from the classroom with her when she left. There is not a lot for me or the students to work with. Though I would be happy to pay for what my students need out-of-pocket, my teacher salary is really low, which is why I am asking you for any donations (monetary or physical) that you are comfortable giving to help me get my classroom to where it needs to be so both my students and I can be successful. Not only will this money be used to buy school supplies, but it will be used to purchase books, student bins, a classroom rug, content from teacherspayteachers, and fund our class store so students can earn prizes for good behavior. If money is something you can't give right now, that is okay! I would be happy to take any children's books or chapter books that you might have that you would be willing to donate.
