I’m walking my first-ever marathon for Broken Biscuits — because every dog deserves a second chance

On 24th August, I’ll be walking a marathon distance from Lancaster to Preston as part of the 2 Legs for 4 challenge — a national fundraiser supporting animal charities that help four legged animals in need.

I’ve chosen to walk for Broken Biscuits, a truly remarkable charity supporting disabled and injured pets. They rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals due to injury or illness. Even when injuries mean paralysis, they give these pets a life filled with mobility, love and care.

This charity is especially close to my heart. Lullah, my best friend’s dog, became paraplegic after losing the use of her back legs. She needed round-the-clock care and specialist support while my friend was in hospital fighting cancer. Broken Biscuits stepped in with extraordinary kindness and commitment, caring for Lullah when it mattered most. Their support meant everything during a time of deep vulnerability and love.

Broken Biscuits are more than just caregivers, they’re advocates and educators. They provide custom-made wheelchairs and mobility aids, free of charge, often loaned to families who otherwise couldn’t afford them.

Their centre includes the world’s first disabled dog park, where pets can safely regain confidence, socialize, and test their wheelchairs under professional supervision. They might be a small charity but with a mighty mission: a life-changing injury is not a life-ending one.

As a dog mum myself, I’m inspired by their belief in second chances and devoted care. That’s why I’m walking this marathon — every step is for dogs like Lullah, and for the people at Broken Biscuits who never stop fighting and caring for them.

And yes, I will probably cry or crawl from all the walking and I will absolutely resist the temptation to call an Uber halfway point. Promise. (Hold me to it.)

If you can, please support my walk - it would mean a lot. Thank you so much for helping give these dogs a chance to walk and live again! ❤️

This one’s for you Lullah ❤️
