Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

With folded hands and humble hearts, we reach out to the Sangat and to all kind souls for your support in establishing the very first Gurudwara Sahib on the island of Tenerife, Spain.

Around 500 Punjabis, including our families, now call this beautiful island home. Yet until today, we have had no Guru Ghar of our own here, no place to bow our heads before Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, to attend to seva, to listen to Gurbani, or to share in Langar together. Establishing a Gurudwara Sahib has long been a heartfelt need of the Sangat, and by the grace of Waheguru, we have come together to make this dream a reality.

We have found a suitable property in San Isidro at a cost of €300,000, and through our own contributions the Sangat has already raised over €200,000. Our sincere effort is to pay the full amount with the support of our community and well-wishers. The building, which was previously a day-care centre, already stands ready, but some construction and changes will be needed to prepare it according to the requirements of a Gurudwara Sahib. For this reason, additional funds will also be required.

Tenerife is one of the busiest tourist destinations in the world, and members of our community visit from across the globe. Many of them wish to pay their respects at a Gurudwara Sahib during their stay, a blessing that has not yet been possible here. With your support, every visitor and every member of the Sangat will finally have a Guru Ghar to call their own.

TRANSPARENCY UPDATE (30 July 2026)

My name is Sarbjit Singh, a member of the Sikh community (Sangat) of Tenerife and the organizer of this fundraiser. I am raising these funds on behalf of, and with the authorisation of, Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar Canarias, the Sikh religious entity officially registered in Spain's Registry of Religious Entities (Registro de Entidades Religiosas nº 027436, NIF G21968110), whose president is Joga Singh. The association is the beneficiary of this campaign.

How the funds will be used:

- Purchase of the property in San Isidro (Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife) that will become the first Gurudwara Sahib of the Canary Islands — total price €300,000, of which the Sangat has already contributed over €200,000 directly to the association.

- Notary, registration and tax costs of the purchase.

- Renovation of the building (a former day-care centre) to meet the requirements of a Gurudwara Sahib: Darbar Hall for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Langar kitchen and dining hall, accessibility and safety works.

- Essential furnishing and religious items.

How the funds reach the beneficiary: 100% of the funds raised here will be transferred directly to the association's official bank account at Banco Santander, held in the name of Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar Canarias. No money will be used for any personal purpose, and accounts will be presented to the Sangat.
