First Gen Low Income Black MHC Student Needs Help
Donation protected
Hello,
I am a queer first generation low income black student at Mount Holyoke College. Unfortunately, I have an outstanding balance that I need to pay off or else I will be withdrawn Spring Semester. I am using my HEERF Fund grant and subsidized loans to cover some of the cost, but it is not enough to cover everything. I am reaching out to my community for support in helping me pay off this cost. My parents are also struggling finacially and I currently do not have a job nor a way to pay off my tuition by the December 1 deadline. Anything helps and would be greatly appreciated.
As it stands, Mount Holyoke College has limited resources to help low income students thrive without the fear of being withdraw. I know many students who have gone through this or are currently going through this as well. As a community I hope we can come together to support and advocate for low-income students so that this does not continue to be an ongoing issue. If Mount Holyoke claims to be a place that values diversity, then it must put in the effort to make the college affordable, safe, and equitable for all.
