Greetings Everyone! My name is Empress Gennie. I was born and raised in Oakland and moved to Humboldt in 2014. In 2017 I started using my hair care experience to provide services to the black and brown folks of this community. Since starting I've been doing hair out of my home and have tried working with others in the hair care community but to no success. Although I get by quite well out of my place, I would love to create a space where I, as well as others, can come and enjoy providing hair services to African Americans who don't feel represented in Humboldt salons.
I plan on using all funds donated to:
•find/lease an appropriate space in Arcata.
•buy necessary equipment needed to run a successful salon.
•fix any issues with potential salon.
