First Avenue Studios has been at the heart of the Newcastle music scene for 3 decades, but now faces huge uncertainty having to shut down as the coronavirus situation escalates.

Most musicians playing on Tyneside have probably rehearsed there at some point, and in addition to recording countless local bands the studio has also hosted the likes of Maximo Park, Futureheads and Satan (the metal band, not the big evil red dude).

Times are about to get tough for us all, but if people chip in what they can it could be the difference between this local institution re-opening or closing permanently.
