It's the type of story that most people think wouldn't happen to them. It's the last thing you'd be prepared for and when it does hit, what do you do next? A home catching on fire seems pretty farfetched and even if you thought of that situation happening to you, you'd probably think the same as everyone else, "Well I'd grab as much as I can then get out!"Reality is... if it happens, it happens all too fast and what do you grab? Nothing.
This is exactly what happened to my dear friend, Loveyna, and her sister Victoria today. Loveyna was working (from home) in her apartment complex when she decided to check on her neighbors downstairs after hearing the kids' screams and fire alarm go off. When she got to their apartment and peeked in, the walls started to engulf in flames. And what did we say earlier... if we saw our home catch on fire, we'd try to "grab as much stuff as possible", right? Wrong. Instinctively, Loveyna grabbed the kids and ran as far as possible to safety with nothing but her phone, home clothes and a robe on. No shoes, no purse, no ID, no electronics, no pictures, no nothing... Not even the bags from Christmas shopping.
No one is prepared for something like this. Everything you've worked for and built for yourself, for your home, your family -- gone. Just like that.

When she texted me what happened, I called her as soon as I could and asked what can I do, what can I bring for her? The humble person she is, she politely declined my offer. For someone who now has nothing, to ask for nothing... I couldn't NOT do anything.
Most people might not know them like I do, but these two girls are by far a few good hearted people I know. Years ago, they took me in when I had nothing myself and this is the least I can do to help them in return.

The fire department was kind enough to provide a $100 aid card along with the Red Cross who gave a $250 card also. But with no renter's insurance and no savings, the rebuilding process might be a long one. Hopefully not so with your help of course.
Prayers are always appreciated. Kind words are encouraging. But it's your small donations that will help these two young women start their lives over. It will provide the small necessities we might take for granted day by day: a toothbrush, pajamas, socks, underwear, a jacket, clothes to wear to work, hopefully a bed sometime soon.
They don't even know I'm doing this for them yet, but I want to THANK YOU in advance and I'm sure they will be very grateful as well. It will truly be a Christmas miracle for these two lovely ladies with your help... God Bless <3
