So far 110 tons of hay have been delivered by the members of the Snohomish County Cattlemen's but they need so much more. A semi truck and trailer of hay costs $6,000 +/- delivered to the affected ranch, this will feed 100 cows for 12 days. There are thousands of cattle and horses that no longer have feed due to the fires. All of these ranches put up hundreds of tons of hay to feed their livestock for the winter, the giant haystacks burned along with everything else.
As you drive through the vast area the fire consumed you see what was a home, a barn, a tractor and a truck. One rancher lost 56 miles of fence, one lost 200 head of cattle, the stories go on and on. We can help in the way we know how to help and that's raising cattle. Getting fences back up and feed to the cattle are an urgent need for the ranchers.
Please help in supporting these family ranches.
