Hi my name is Adam Wells and I am attempting to ride the London to Brighton on the 15th June to raise for money for the Firefighters Charity who helped me in my recovery from a recent serious injury, as well as for my good friend Lee Hudson (trollope) who inspired me along the way.
Last year I suffered a torn achilles tendon whilst at work. It has been a long, tough road to recovery and whilst I’m still not fully recovered, the Firefighters Charity have helped me immensely. During a stay at the charity, I learnt that these amazing workers help children who have been seriously injured in fires. This charity and it’s facilities are solely funded by public donations and I am determined to help them to continue to help firefighters, children involved in fires and their families with the support and help they need.
A huge inspiration in getting me through this has been my good friend Lee. Lee has stage 4 cancer and has been battling for this for over a year, his strength and positivity throughout has been inspiring. Lee is a dad to two beautiful children aged 7 and 5 and a husband to his loving wife. They are his world; something that those reading this will hopefully understand and can even relate to. This is our opportunity to show Lee how much he is loved and supported and to help with the financial burden of his fight. I was off work for 6 months and know how mentally and financially difficult this is. Lee has been unable to work for over a year. He wants to help and contribute to all the hard work his amazing wife is doing - any donation really would help immensely.
This won’t be easy for me whilst I am still recovering but I am determined to do this and show my support for the Firefighters Charity and Lee. Both of these causes are close to my heart and no matter how big or small, your donations will go a very long way and will be gratefully appreciated
