Firefighter needs help rebuilding after historic flood in KY

Due to the flooding that has overtaken Kentucky, water levels reached the roof of my parent’s garage and destroyed the integrity of their home. Nearly everything inside has been lost: furniture, appliances, personal belongings. My little brother no longer has clothing or a bed.

While the floods engulfed their home, my dad listened to the pull of being a first responder for over 20 years and spent his time in his community and helped others facing the same devastation even knowing he would not have a home to go back to at the end of the day. It speaks volumes about the type of people my parents are that in the face of tragedy, they helped others first.

Now, they need help in return. Insurance is not covering anything that was lost. Clothing, personal effects, food, kitchen ware, furniture, toiletries…everything is gone. The road to rebuilding their life is long and expensive. If you have anything to spare to help them on this journey, it is beyond appreciated. No donation is too small and will go towards even the most basic necessities in everyday life that we take for granted.
