Help Firefighter after life altering motorcycle accident.

Pam and Mary are asking for help to raise funds to help our friend Darryl during this life altering accident.

Darryl Turmel is an 18 year veteran of the fire service and is currently a Captain with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue. On October 29, 2023 he was involved in a motorcycle accident that nearly took his life. Among other injuries, Darryl suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. He spent 44 days in a trauma ICU and has now been transferred to a neurological rehabilitation center where they are working to get his brain working. The hope is that he will one day be able to talk, walk, eat, and function on his own. How long his recovery will be and to what extent he will recover is unknown at this time. His insurance only covers up to 60 days in a skilled facility and we DO know that he will need more recovery time than

that. We are raising funds to assist with both his insurance deductibles as well as his extended care that is not covered by insurance. Darryl has dedicated his life to helping others and it is our hope that others will now step up to help him in his time of need.
