Fired Injured GM workers
Donation protected
Colombian workers are suffering the intentional neglect of their labor rights. Others are loosing their houses thru maligned bank officers. Colombia is the biggest drug exporter and one the worst countries in human rights protection.
This fundraising campaign will support former workers at the GM plant in Bogota, Colombia who were injured on the job and subsequently fired with no workers compensation for their injuries. These workers have occupied a tent encampment outside the US Embassy in Bogota since 2011 demanding a settlement from GM.
One such protester, Jorge Parra, is now in law school studying labor law in order to represent workers rights. Your donation will help support these workers sustain their struggle, and Jorge's tuition costs.
We are grateful for the donations that have come from autoworkers in Canada (members of Unifor) and the U.S. (UAW) as well as The Michigan Coalition for Human Rights, Portland Central America Solidarity Committee, and many anonymous donors. We welcome donations at any level, and thank you for your support.
