Support needed. Fired for telling the truth.

Hi, my name is Danielle — and I’m sharing this because I deserve to be heard.
Not pitied. Not rescued. Heard.
I was fired from a major company for telling the truth.
What started as a messy situation between coworkers turned into a full-blown lie that cost me my job, my reputation, and my stability.
I didn’t spread rumors. I didn’t show explicit content around. I didn’t assault anyone.
What I did do was ask questions when something didn’t feel right — and that made me a target. A white coworker lied to cover up her infidelity, and I became the scapegoat. My Blackness made me easy to blame, and my silence made me disposable.
HR didn’t follow up on my witness suggestions.
I was gaslit, dismissed, and eventually terminated — despite their own documentation contradicting their reasoning.
I lost everything.
My job. My income. My safety net. My health was suffering from repetitive motion injuries, and while I was forced out of work with no accommodations, I was never paid for that time.
And now?
The same people who lied to get me fired are lying again — to try and get their jobs back.
Because of that, I’ve now been denied unemployment for a false claim of assault that never happened.
So here I am — still standing. But I need help.
This fundraiser isn’t about a pity party. It’s about getting to the next step.
I’ve been showing up to interviews.
I’m actively searching for work.
But in being blocked from receiving unemployment, I don’t have much left to eat or get around — and I’m not going to keep quiet while injustice buries me.
Your support will go directly toward:
Food
Transportation to interviews
Basic necessities while I wait for that yes
A safe, clean reset so I can build again — this time, on my own terms
I’m a chef. A creator. A nurturer.
All I’ve ever wanted was to cook for people, and help them feel like life isn’t so bad. That’s still the dream — and I’m not giving up.
Thank you for reading.
Thank you for sharing.
And thank you for helping me get one step closer to everything they tried to take away.
