After a devastating apartment fire and my car breaking down, my son and I are struggling to rebuild and need your support.

This past week has completely turned our world upside down. A fire in our apartment building has left our home soaked, damaged, and unlivable. Most of our belongings are ruined, and with insurance giving me the runaround, it’s looking like everything we lost may be gone for good.

On top of this, my car engine died just as I was returning from visiting my family in Michigan. I now need an entirely new engine, which feels impossible given everything else we’re facing.

All of this comes after losing my job back in January. Despite constant interviews, networking, and applications, I still haven’t been able to secure steady work. Between the fire, the car, the uncertainty with insurance and housing, and adult boy “momming” through it all—I’m overwhelmed and in need of help.
