Fire Walk 2026 – Walking for Those Who Serve
In April 2026, Fire Walk 2026 will see Crew Manager Lou Needham take on an extraordinary physical and mental challenge to raise funds and awareness for two vital causes: PTSD999 and the National Red Plaque Fire Service Memorial. Lou will be attempting the demanding climb the Llanberis path of Mount Snowdon while wearing full firefighting kit and breathing apparatus, completing the ascent under air.
The challenge carries deep personal significance. In 1986, the climb was first undertaken by Leading Fireman Dave Needham – Lou’s Father. Forty years later, Lou will follow in his footsteps, honouring her Dad’s legacy while shining a spotlight on the ongoing importance of mental health support within the Emergency Services. This is an exceptionally rare challenge and will mark only the third time it has ever been attempted.
Funds raised through Fire Walk 2026 will support:
• PTSD999, a charity dedicated to helping Emergency Service workers and volunteers suffering from mental health conditions including post traumatic stress disorder, providing life-changing support when it is needed most.
• A donation to the National Red Plaque Fire Service Memorial, contributing towards the construction of their new building, ensuring firefighters and control staff who have dedicated their lives to their communities are remembered for generations to come.
Fire Walk 2026 is more than a physical endurance test — it is a powerful statement about resilience, remembrance, and the unseen battles faced by those who serve on the frontline.
By supporting this challenge, you are helping to raise awareness of mental health within the Emergency Services, honouring the past, supporting the present and protecting the future of those who dedicate their lives to protecting others.
