Fire victims: Janet, Richard, Max, and Parker

Donation protected
We're fundraising to help Janet and Richard, and their two sons Max and Parker—a beautiful Queensland family who lost their home this weekend in the Coorparoo house fire.

The family of four, known for their huge hearts, have lost everything—their home, their two cars (their transport), their worldly possessions, and perhaps most painfully, those sentimental items and objects that can never be replaced. The family literally got out of the burning house with only the clothes on their back.

Devastatingly, the family home, which has now been lost, was 70 years old. It is the house that Janet grew up in as a girl, the home that belonged to her parents. For this reason, the family have lost more than just wood, bricks, and mortar. They have lost 7 decades of cherished memories full of love, family, and friendship.

As the family is now homeless (staying with family), they also have no phones and no direct or immediate way of communicating. Janet, Richard, Max, and Parker are needing to take some time to regroup, so they may take a while to get in touch.

For those who know Janet, you will know that she has been a passionate educator her entire life. She has changed the lives of thousands of young people who dream of a career in the arts. Many of Janet's students wouldn't be where they are today without her mentorship, care, and guidance. Janet has dedicated her career to young Queenslanders in the arts, and now many of us are continuing her legacy. Without Janet's leadership, the Queensland youth arts sector would not be as strong as it is today.

Richard, also, has been a rock for so many throughout his life. He is a loving husband and father, and most recently a yoga teacher. He moved from the States to Coorparoo, a place that he describes as "the most beautiful place on earth" because it is where he fell in love with Janet. Like Janet, Richard always goes above and beyond. He is willing to do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat. His fearless love for his family and friends is never ending.

At this time, the family is in shock. As they navigate their way through their profound grief and loss, we hope they can find comfort in our support.

At the moment, we're all desperate to help in some way. A small donation to Janet, Richard, Max, and Parker will go a long way as they embark on the arduous journey of starting again and rebuilding their home. All funds raised will go directly to the family for temporary accomodation, food, clothes, and anything else that they need at this difficult time.

As the reality of losing everything sets in, a donation and a message of love and support via the comments is the best way to send your love, support, and best wishes.

Many thanks in advance,
Lydia, Bronwyn, Ali, and Travis
