On September 1, 2018, our ABENA DISROE fell victim to a horrendous fire. Fortunately, a neighbor’s cat that she was caring for woke her from a deep sleep. She realized her apartment was on fire and narrowly escaped with her life and only the clothing she was wearing. She was found unconscious with the cat in the stairwell and had to be revived two times.Our SiStar has lost all of her belongings, EVERYTHING; clothes, memoribailia, family heirlooms, furniture, household items, and so much more. The pain of loss runs deep when she speaks of memoribalia related to her daughter, mother, and lifelong accomplishments. The devastation is almost impossible to bear, but for her strong spirit and belief in a higher power Abena is moving through this pain and loss. As one of Our Community Cornerstone Giants this Queen has touched the lives of so many throughout the years; and now needs our help.
She is temporarily displaced and putting on a face of courage while attempting to figure out how to recover from this destruction.
I am appealing to the community to please assist with generating EMERGENCY FUNDS to help ease her burden. Abena tirelessly does so much for the community and it is now our turn to show our appreciation in this time of need. No amount is too large or small.
I am praying that you will join me in rallying around our Queen and assist with getting her back on her feet.
