Hi, my name is Lisa, and I'm fundraising for two people who really need our help: my amazing Dad (77) and his incredible wife, Phyllis (80).
In the early evening on February 1, a massive fire ripped through their home in Sunset House (Valleyview), leaving nearly everything destroyed. For nearly 30 years, their home has been a place of love, warmth, and memories for family and friends. But today, three people are out of a home - Dad, Phyllis, and her son Rob. Right now, they’re staying with Phyllis’s other son, Ed, but with calving season just starting, they desperately need to be closer to the farm.
Dad and Phyllis are the kind of people who always show up for others. They’ve built their lives around community - volunteering at the Legion, and helping out at BINGOs. Now, they're the ones who need support. The fire took their home, their hot water tank, all their appliances, and their entire stockpile of food. It also stole something irreplaceable - the setting of a lifetime of cherished memories. Their home has been a both vacation destination and a foundation of love for 16 grandkids and 18 great-grandkids, a place where so many moments of laughter and joy have been shared.
Despite this devastating loss, they want to rebuild. They need help covering rent, food, and gas costs through calving season and will eventually need support to replace everything lost in the fire. Any contribution, big or small, will make an immense difference in helping them get back on their feet.
If you know Dad and Phyllis, you know they would be the first ones to step up if someone else were in need. Now, it’s our turn to be there for them. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help them rebuild not just their home, but the life they’ve spent decades creating.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
