My name is Michael, and I’m a close friend and longtime colleague of Steve’s.

On Sunday night, September 7th, tragedy struck when Steve’s home was completely destroyed in a devastating fire. Thankfully, Steve and his two beautiful daughters were not home — and for that, we are beyond grateful.

But the loss they’ve endured is heartbreaking. Their beloved dog, Stetson, sadly did not survive. Their other dog, Chief, is currently fighting for his life in the ICU, being treated for severe smoke inhalation. He’s showing signs of improvement, and we’re all holding onto hope that he pulls through.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and it may be quite some time before Steve receives any form of financial assistance from insurance to be able to rebuild his and his girls' lives.

In the meantime, Steve and his girls are facing the overwhelming loss of their place to call home, their belongings, and one of their dearest companions. Yet, even in the face of heartbreak, they remain hopeful — especially for Chief’s recovery.

With Steve’s permission, I’ve created this fundraiser to support him and his daughters during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution will go directly to Steve to help with temporary housing, essential living expenses, clothing, food and Chief’s ongoing medical care.
