Greg Nistler: Fire Took His Home and Beloved Dogs
Donation protected
On January 13, 2025, my dad's life (Greg Nistler) was forever changed. He lives in McGregor, a small rural town in northern Minnesota. While visiting his neighbors, his home tragically caught fire and was completely destroyed. At 72 years of age, he has always been self-sufficient, and now earns a living by splitting and selling firewood and small carpentry projects. But now, everything he's worked for is gone—his belongings, his home, and what has affected him most, his two beloved dogs, who were lost in the fire.
All he was left with were the clothes on his back. He spent the first night with his generous neighbors and will be living in a hotel for the foreseeable future as he begins to pick up the pieces. Unfortunately, his home was uninsured, making this an even greater challenge for someone who has always lived very modestly.
While family and his local small community have come together to provide some immediate support, the road ahead is daunting. Our goal is to raise enough funds to help him start rebuilding his life—securing a place to live, replacing essential tools for his livelihood, and even just providing him with a sense of stability and hope during this incredibly difficult time.
My dad is a hardworking and simple man who would never ask for help himself, but this tragedy is too big for him to face alone. Your support—no matter how small—will make a huge difference in helping him regain his footing and start the rebuilding process.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any assistance you can provide. Whether it's a donation, a share, or words of encouragement, it all means the world to him and our family.
