Fire Took All: Help Martu's Family Recover

Hello, my name is Martu. This morning around 8 am, I was woken up to the smell of smoke coming through my apartment. The apartment below me was on fire, and they ran without calling 911. My smoke alarms never went off to alert me of the smoke. My 4 small children, ages 7, 7, 2, and 11 months, were sleeping at the time. I woke them up and got them safely out, including our 3 pets. The firefighter told me that nothing in our apartment was savable. We lost everything that was in our apartment. We have no money to replace these items, and we don’t have any funds at the moment to find a new apartment.
