Fire Strikes Firefighters' Home – McAleese Family

Our fellow firefighter David McAleese and his family have experienced a devastating loss. On July 19, 2020 at approximately 11PM, Lynbrook Firefighters responded to a working fire on Lakeview Avenue. As brave firefighters responded to the alarm as they regularly do, they realized that the house was the home for one of their own.  Thankfully, David and his family were able to get out due to his heroic and quick actions.  They were blessed enough to walk away with their lives and their pets.  Much of their house and belongings have been destroyed by this awful incident. It is not often that a firefighter loses his entire home to an incident like this.

David has put his life on the line to save people's homes and their belongings.  Never ever did he believe he or his family would be on this side of it.  The McAleese Family needs assistance in recovering from this catastrophic loss.  All of their clothing, personal items, and home furnishings were consumed in the fire.  Let’s band together to help this family as they pick up the pieces. They are insured, but food, clothing and daily expenses are not covered by insurance.  Please recognize the years of service this firefighter and his family have given to the community in their time of need.
