On Wednesday June 3rd my autistic son Tremel Jr. (Poppa) passed away at the age of 15 in an electrical house fire that went from 0-100 within 60 seconds. Enduring this tragedy has made me realize they aren't enough life saving training and plans for autism families, we're so busy trying to create comfort and routines that a lot of the time life saving plans get pushed aside. Which is why I want to start POPPA'S FOUNDATION, to help provide Fire safety, and emergency planning for kids with autism and all children with disabilities. With Autism being Prevalent I think it's important that we come together and help provide and save these special babies lives; out of all the therapies and help I've received for Poppa Fire training and emergency planning wasn't one of them. Having this training could've prevented this tragedy that has tore across our community from losing Poppa. I want us to be more proactive about the overall safety of kids with autism & disabilities. They deserve more and we have the opportunity to give it them. Tremel left behind a 12yr old younger brother Jayceon, his dad whom tried diligently risking his life to save Poppa but the fire was to strong we ask for extra prayers for Tremel Sr. as he is devasted by the loss of his oldest son; He also leaves behind his mother Latoya whom is absolutely heartbroken & shattered behind the loss of her oldest son. His grandparents, aunts, uncles and host of loving cousins and family. Never in a million years would I think we would lose our son this way. We want to prevent any other families from feeling this heartbreaking void that we now have to live with. Please donate to Poppa's foundation let's make a change and help families like ours do all that we can to attempt to prevent these tragedies. Please donate if you can any amount will help, and if you can't donate please pray for not only us but all families who have kids with autism & disabilities, we need them & so do they. Thank you.
