NM Wildfires - Help for John & Tamera Bartley

My uncle and aunt, John and Tamera Bartley, lost their beloved land, trees and financial livelihood to the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon wildfires in New Mexico. These fires were the state's and nation's largest wildfires in recent history. The Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon wildfires scorched over 341,000 acres across New Mexico and are still burning.

These fires destroyed the trees and land on almost 3/4 of the family ranch, where John and Tamera live and work. As loggers and tree farmers, they made their living from the forest. They harvested Christmas trees, firewood and logs that fed his sawmill, one of the few remaining individually-owned sawmills in the state. Unfortunately, the majority of the trees that also fed the family are now gone.

If you know John and Tamera, they are two of the most humble, generous and wonderful people you will ever meet. Standing at over 6 feet tall, John is known to many as the “gentle giant.” They are always helping out in the community and pride themselves in helping others, from John serving as a volunteer firefighter to Tamera rescuing and rehabilitating animals.

Simply put, they have hearts of gold. They never want to burden anyone and would never ask for help, but now they are the ones that need our help. They need all of the financial assistance they can muster to survive.

I am trying to raise money for them to purchase new equipment to clear the burned trees, clean up the land and help them recover financially. If anyone is willing and able to help, our family would greatly appreciate it. If there are two people in the world that deserve this, I promise you that it is John and Tamera.
