Eaton Fire Relief: Whitney and Ethan's Story

Donation protected

On Wednesday we received the devastating news that Whitney Westphal and Ethan Arquette lost their Altadena home on Sacramento St. near Lake Ave. and all their belongings to the Eaton Fire. Due to the high winds, the fire jumped miles to their block. They noticed a few embers and within 15 minutes their entire street was engulfed. With no evacuation notice due to the distance they were from the fire, Whitney and Ethan chose to alert their neighbors to flee instead of grabbing personal items. They left with only a few items and their cats. With them were Whitney’s parents, Lynne and Bill Westphal, who had sought shelter after being forced to evacuate their own home a few hours earlier. Shockingly, Lynne and Bill’s Altadena home of 30+ years also burned to the ground.

Whitney and Ethan are newlyweds expecting their first child. They have lost everything. All donations will go directly toward replacing Whitney and Ethan’s essential belongings (clothing, bedding, toiletries etc) as well as food and their most urgent need for interim housing.

Thank you for your support of Whitney and Ethan and all those affected by these fires.
