Our dear friend and Envoy resident, Billy Gorman, lost his sweet cat, Jules, to an electrical fire in his apartment this weekend. Billy was away for the weekend, and the fire spontaneously started while only Jules was home. Fire fighters rescued Jules from the apartment and gave her oxygen, Envoy cat friends teamed up to take her in, and another friend took her to the emergency vet while Billy rushed back to town, but Jules’ lungs were too damaged from smoke inhalation and she died at the vet’s the next day.
Billy has made many of our lives brighter at the Envoy. He’s got a quick wit, a kind and generous heart, and a Boston accent he’ll only bring out on special occasions. He cared for Jules like he cares for his many friends, and we will all miss her.
Billy lost his apartment and nearly everything in it to the fire, and the emergency vet bill was very high. Billy’s friends in the building have organized a go fund me to help cover some of the cost of the vets and get Billy back on his feet, and we hope you’ll consider donating.
