We've been in the building since 1996. It's always been like a safe haven for me to gather my thoughts when I'm down in life. Me and my mother lost everything in that apartment. That apartment meant everything to her. She even spent money from her own pocket to fix damages because she felt the super was unreliable at his job. She's still in shock and hasn't really comprehended what had happened just yet. I myself attempted to recover certain items after the firefighters left but the fumes and the ceiling collapsing all at the same time was a no brainer for me. That's when I realized it was all over. That nothing materialistic mattered.

I also would like to donate some of the donations to my neighbor Lou n Margherita who have been my neighbors since day 1. They both are devastated from the fire and I know they’d very much appreciate the help.

I put this fund raiser together because we need all the help we can get. Red Cross will pay for the hotels until jan 2. Management claims they will help after jan 2nd.
