Fire Relief: Help Rebuild Bechan’s Family Momo Restaurant

Hi, I'm Sarah, COO of Trek Relief. I’m fundraising on behalf of our friend Bechan Rai and his wife and daughter in Kathmandu.

Bechan is part of the Mystic Himalaya Trekking crew that leads all of our Nepal treks, and he has guided us since our very first Trek Relief trip back in 2016—the trip that started my path with our mission.

Over the years, he’s guided many of us with kindness and care on countless treks in the Himalayas, and welcomed us into his family’s small momo restaurant near the Monkey Temple, which he opened just a couple of years ago with his life savings.

Recently, a fire destroyed the building that housed Bechan’s restaurant. While his family is thankfully safe, they’ve lost all their equipment, and there is little to no government support to help them recover. They are left to absorb the full cost of starting over.

I'm hoping to raise funds to help Bechan and his family rebuild what they've lost and reopen their doors.
