Fire Relief Fund MRMR & Temp Community Housing

Donation protected
Monday night a freak combinations of conditions created a perfect fire storm that burned down the town of Blue River, including McKenzie River Mountain Resort.

Our home/property was completely destroyed.  While the business has insurance to hopefully cover the damage - the staff who worked and lived here are now without jobs and homeless.

As a small business owner, I've invested my life and life savings into building and remodeling this place into something that we all can be proud of.  Now its all gone.

Covid shutdowns earlier this year has left us pretty thin on resources to provide for our former staff - they are unemployed and homeless right now.  Local emergency assistance is providing help for a few days a to a week - but after that they are on their own.

I am going to try and help them as best I can, but I don't have enough to meet their basic needs.

Many past friends and clients have asked how they can help and donate.  they asked me to put a go fund me page together.  I think I will make it through help with friends and family, but my staff desperately need help.

This is a picture of our former place,  We will miss her.  We will miss what was the town of Blue River that we knew.

To all our fiends and family members we thank you for your support.  No donations are expected.  Yet anything you can help with, is greatly appreciated.

We try and look forward to the future while we help those around us during this crisis.

I am donating too - the more we raise the more we can help.

Update 9/17:  Thank you everyone!! We have almost reached our goal for supporting staff.  I am blown away by your generosity.

Additional Support Funds Needed for emergency housing: In response to our donors, we are expanding the GoFundMe to campaign to raise money to help provide temporary housing for staff and other local residents who lost their homes.  This would include infrastructure repairs/improvements that would allow us to connect trailers to septic/water/power.

Support for Rebuilding our Community Medical Clinic: After stabilizing staff and temporary housing, remaining funds will be directed to help rebuild the Blue River community medical clinic that also burned down.

As we have a big need, we won't have a cap on this fund.  Thanks again for your support!

About Me: In addition to running a small business in the area, I am also a community volunteer, serving as a board member and past president of the McKenzie River Chamber of Commerce and serving on the board of a non-profit that was created to help support our communities, the McKenzie River Community Development Corporation.   Our property was an anchor business helping to provide jobs and tourism revenue for our town.  The impact of this loss will be felt for years to come.
