Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
My husband and I are reaching out today with heavy hearts to ask for your support for our dear friends, Nick and Brenda Davidge, and their kids, Jude and Ivy, who tragically lost their home in the recent Eaton Fire in Altadena, CA. Thankfully, the kids and their pets are safe, but the loss is immense, and they’re now facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives from scratch.
Nick and Brenda are the kind of people who build communities wherever they go. Nick is a talented musician, former member of the band Airbus, and a creative force in music media and marketing. He’s the dad who organizes epic Halloween haunted houses, creating joy and memories for so many families. Brenda is the heart and soul of a roller derby team, helping keep the whole organization rolling smoothly with her generosity and tireless spirit. And their kids, Jude and Ivy, are two of the brightest lights you’ll ever meet. Jude’s kindness and effortless style inspires everyone around him, and Ivy has a way of spreading joy wherever she goes.
In addition to losing their home, the family’s plans for the future have been deeply affected. Nick had just finished building an in-law ADU in their backyard for his mum, who was about to relocate from England to live with them. That, too, is gone now, along with everything else they had worked so hard for. On top of the emotional toll, Nick’s work-from-home office was also destroyed. They’ve always been the first to show up for others, and now it’s our turn to show up for them.
James and I started this GoFundMe to help ease their burden as they navigate this challenging time. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to supporting their immediate needs and helping them rebuild their lives.
