Fire Relief for Garrison Family
Donation protected
On Thursday June 27, 2024, Haley and John Garrison received a phone call from their neighbors that their beloved home in Montecito was on fire. An old lightbulb had gotten too hot and started a fire in a linen closet while the Garrisons were visiting their family in Bakersfield. They lost their sweet cat, Fifi, in the fire. Haley, John, and their son Shepherd quickly returned to Montecito to find a shell of what was formerly their vibrant and welcoming home. Nothing that was in their house at the time of the fire turned out to be salvageable.
The Garrisons have effectively lost almost all of their earthly possessions but they have not lost hope. Despite this tremendous loss, they are clinging to the kindness and goodness of the Lord and seeking to honor him and proclaim his name through their own suffering. As their sister, it is a gift to watch their steadfast trust in Christ even through this.
The money raised by this Go Fund Me is for the purpose of helping them with housing and essential needs as they wait for insurance claims to process. It is a gift to have such generous people willing to love and serve their family during this time.
Please continue to pray for peace and comfort for them. It will be a very long time before they can have a permanent living place again.
We know that even in this, God’s glory is on display.
In Christ,
