Fire Relief for Christa Kimlicko Jones & Jud Jones
Donation protected
On Wednesday December 20th, illegal contracting work in the unit next door to my parents' apartment in Queens led to nearly the entire building burning down (https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/queens-fire-that-displaced-hundreds-of-residents-caused-by-contractor-illegally-using-torch-fdny-says/).
Their home for the last 20 years is now gone. Most devastatingly, their two beloved cats (Romulus and Betsy) have not yet been found. We were in Texas at the time of the fire, and are fortunate to be physically safe - my parents even have a week's worth of clothing & toiletries. But treasured momentos, family heirlooms, wedding photos, baby pictures - everything in the apartment - has been destroyed.
As they rebuild, I'd love to try and create a little financial cushion for them. I wish I could single-handedly get them a new home for Christmas, but the best I can do right now is bring community together to support them. Any little bit you could contribute would be so gratefully received.
Thank you so very much in advance. Sending love to you all this holiday, and wishing you a happy healthy new year.
