Fire Relief for Allen, Cecily, Oliver and Sebastian
Donation protected
We are raising money to support our friends, Allen and Cecily, and their twin boys, Oliver and Sebastian, who lost their home to the Palisades fire on Tuesday, January 7th.
Both Allen and Cecily were serving patients in clinic at UCLA when the fire started that morning in the Palisades. When the evacuation order was given, Cecily and Allen rushed from their clinics to pick up her mother and their family dog, Sierra. They had only minutes to grab documents as the fire and smoke grew closer. There was no time, nor enough hands, to pack clothes or save what made their house a home - precious wedding and family photos, the boys' childhood comfort blankets and toys, irreplaceable memorabilia from family members long passed - Cecily's father and grandfather.
It took the family two hours, driving slowly through smoke and ash, to get to safety. They are all safe now, but their home is gone, and they are facing the challenge of unanticipated expenses to secure temporary housing, clothing, toys, and other essential items.
All funds raised will go directly to Cecily and Allen to support their immediate needs as they work to rebuild their lives and sense of home, while serving their patients who have also been impacted by these tragic fires.
This GoFundMe was started and is being managed by Heather Onuma, Kelly Dougherty and Peter Kimball — friends of Cecily's from the Princeton track and field team -- and Michael Kennedy and Joe Solberg, friends of Allen's from Harvard and UCLA.
