We are in urgent need of your help. The devastating Woolsey Fire has ravaged in and around Malibu, wiping out almost 100,000 acres and more than 800 structures.

The fire didn't spare Latigo Canyon. The home Becky and Jack Kern built 35 years ago was destroyed.

Up until the fire, their house had been a home to three generations and countless gatherings. Thankfully, Becky, her daughter Sarah, son-in-law Ben, granddaughters Penny and Jaxie, and all their animals evacuated safely.

Becky can use all the emotional and community support you can muster now and for the next months as she and her family recover and rebuild from this disaster. Some of the loss is incorporeal--the sense of community built over the years, the memories tied to each beam and every nail, the feeling of safety that only a home can provide.

In the meantime, this GoFundMe was created for her more immediate needs. Becky has lost irreplaceable photos, mementos, and family heirlooms. But she has also lost all of her wardrobe, her personal effects, furniture, kitchen appliances, dishes, and the possessions she has spent 72 years gathering.

The easiest way to replace some of these things and get her life back to normal as soon as possible is through this fund.
