Fire Relief - 4 Families, South Brunswick, NJ

On Friday August 6th a fire at the Princeton Orchard Apartments in the Dayton section of South Brunswick destroyed 4 apartments. Four local families have been displaced having lost their homes and everything within.

The South Brunswick Township Lions, a service organization founded in 1953, is organizing this GoFundMe in consultation with the South Brunswick Community Response Team to help these families rebuild their lives. A gift card campaign has been underway to help with some things but the families also need assistance with temporary housing, furnishings, household items etc.

Family #1 consists of 2 teenagers and a younger sibling. Last year, the children lost their mother to cancer and have been under the care of extended family members ever since. The family has experienced a lot of hardships already and continue to do so with this house fire. The children are staying with extended family and have requested assistance with providing clothing and bedroom furniture for the children.

Family #2 is a husband, wife and two children. The husband recently started working after being unemployed for some time and they are struggling with out of pocket expenses due to the fire. They are residing in an Extended Stay hotel until their apartment has been made habitable again. Any donations will help them with clothing, food, personal items and lodging.

Family # 3 is a single woman with 2 dogs. A foster home is desperately needed for the dogs until affordable housing in the Dayton area can be found. It will take 2 – 4 months for her apartment to be made habitable again. Any donations will be used for food, personal items and lodging.

Family #4 is a husband, wife and teenage daughter. They are currently residing in a hotel until their apartment can be remediated. Their apartment has incurred major water and smoke damage. Contributions will help with food, clothing, and other personal items and needs that arise.
